Fancy yourself pretty snappy when it comes to putting together an ensemble, but Pinterest just isn’t pulling it together how you like? Looking for easy, free way to put collages into your own blog? Step this way, and welcome to Polyvore.
Established in 2007, Polyvore at the bottom line is like fashion scrapbooking – but way cooler. Use the browser extension tool (just like the Pin-It button) to import photos of items from your favourite web-shops to your Collections, then log into your Polyvore account to create and share outfit collages. Assign each item and Collection with searchable hashtags so other users can find and shop your favourite pieces.
Editing photos with Polyvore is basic but effective – the software automatically tries to erase any background around your central item, otherwise you can choose to use the full unedited version, or to create your own crop using the clipping tool. Add in text and layout in any way you can imagine to best get the feel you’re looking for.
Like shopping obscure designers? No problem, because the tool can pull from just about any webpage, you don’t need to find exist images in other peoples’ Collections or from social media in order to use them in your collages. It also means if you find on Polyvore something you like and want to buy, you simply click on the item within the Collection to go to the online seller where it was sourced.
If you have your own fashion brand, Polyvore is a great tool to gain exposure and start associating yourself with different genres by putting together your own looks. Load up the images from your webstore and add the proper keywords for Polyvore users to use in their images.
