Someone tell Rizzo her Pink ladies’ posse is about to get a whole lot bigger.
Not since 1978, the year we met the ultimate girl crew in Rydell High, have we seen all the cool girls sporting the sweetest hue of all, pink.
The spring runways of Saint Laurent, Gucci, Roberto Cavalli, Loewe, Haider Ackermann, Simone Rocha, Salvatore Ferragamo and J.W. Anderson all included the girly tone in the way of sweet slip dresses, soft bow blouses, ruffled skirts, and suits.
On the street we saw the fashion pack littered with all shades from the palest of baby pink to the boldest of bubble gum. Soft sweaters, structured coats, romantic blouses, metallic mini skirts, tailored trouser suits, capes, feathered jackets and shirts all declared its time to ‘Think Pink’.
In 2016, expect to see all your favourite pieces updated in this sometimes romantic, sometimes pure punk tone. Let this be the year you defy your inner Mean Girl and not just save this colour for Wednesdays. We say, wear pink every day.
