Inspired by classic royal looks and eccentric aristocrats, Joe Browns is set to launch their SS14 and AW15 range. With over 100 boutique stockists throughout Europe, Joe Browns is looking to tap into the Australian market and continue their success.
The new AW15 ‘Sovereignty’ collection consists of silk wraps, ruffles as a collar update, crochet, prairie-esque tops and directional shapes with embellishment and luxe fabrics such as velvet and jacquards. The colour palette is opulent and sophisticated with contrast deep jewel tones with the soft pastel shades of the French renaissance. Macaroon colours of pale mauve and dusky rose pink are juxtaposed with velvet red, silky cornflower blue and deep midnight blue.
The AW15 range has also gathered inspiration from ‘Shangri La’, portraying a Southeast Asian celebration with an unashamed eclectic style. The vivid palette of crimson, lime and hot pink contrasts with earthy neutrals and deeper tones of midnight teal, faded berry and Buddha blue bring depth to the mix. Key shapes include soft chiffon dresses, collarless jackets, styling tunics over trousers, texture knits and bright separates.
Available at Fashion Exposed Sydney, the SS14 range ‘Enlighten’ portrays a tale of the orient meets the romance of the west. Bustling market places and hidden alley ways inspire haphazard use of print, eclectic mixes of textile and a sense of adventure. Traditional eastern prints feature heavily in this direction as does the opulence and romance of western cities such as Venice and Santorini.
The Joe Browns handwriting is totally unique; it’s about taking inspiration from everywhere, trends, travel, flea markets, wallpaper, bottle tops and mixing them altogether. Striving to create remarkable and individual clothing, Joe Brown is all for being unique.
