There’s no denying retail has been a challenging sector in recent years. Business owners have been dealt numerous changes in a short space of time and they just keep coming. To prepare for this new-look retail of the future, now is the time to step into the ring, encourage innovation and experiment with new commercial concepts.
So in that vein – and in the spirit of fighting back – the Fashion Exposed Business Seminar series will deliver another stellar industry line-up for the Sydney event aimed specifically at preparing businesses for the future ahead. Learn how to start and grow a successful web business; how to shop; how to service the new age customer; how social media is evolving retail; and the 2014 retail trends from leading industry figureheads including Cotton On Group, General Pants Group, WGSN, The Grand Social, Watson X Watson, Talulah, Christina Exie, IXIAH, Princess Polly and more.
Online retail isn’t going anywhere – in fact ecommerce technology is evolving into new and exciting territory by the second. To arm retailers with the stats, facts and how-to knowledge in this key area, we welcome back Chris Vincent of Practicology who will have you selling successfully online in no time.
Already there but could be doing it better? Iconic online e-tailer, The Grand Social will host an expert advisory panel who will discuss their tips, tricks and best practice for online selling direct from the front line.
For the first time, Fashion Exposed will open their doors to new businesses for a dedicated `open day’ on Monday 18 August. To officially kick off the new concept, cult fashion brand Watson X Watson will join Small Business New South Wales, TFIA, Australian Business Network, and Launch Initiative for a startup-specific discussion panel aimed at emerging fashion businesses and designers looking to work in the Australian fashion industry.
This will be followed by an exclusive business case study from lauded industry veteran, Talulah. In this not-to-be-missed session, Kelli Wharton will reveal her fashion success story from her first collection in 2005 to a multi-award winning designer and lifestyle brand 9 years later.
The popular Business Breakfast also returns on Sunday August 17. Titled `A discussion with the designers’, an Australian all-star line-up including Christina Exie, Bronx and Banco, and IXIAH will discuss hot topics, tips, tricks and sage advice for all businesses in fashion today.
