We often see or hear the phrase, If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life.
This is certainly true for former lawyer, Anna Barnes who unleashed her passion for design four years ago to launch her own label, Anna Nova Fashion Accessories.
“Anna Nova is the realisation of a dream to create statement pieces for women that make them feel completely adorned and indulged!” she said.
Anna fuses her love for art and fashion to create styles that are distinctively unique and perfect for any occasion.
This passion and determination has seen the Anna Nova fashion jewellery label achieve stockists throughout Australia and New Zealand, with some stores in Singapore and Dubai.
The Anna Nova brand features several labels including;
– Journie, a distinct Australian designer handbag collection.
In preparation and design process for the launch, Anna worked closely with her husband John on many a journey to source new, unique fabrics. The label was inspired by the pioneering spirit of far flung destinations. Each wallet comes boxed in unique, handcrafted, recycled board which gives it that natural aura that comes with every Journie. Each piece tells a story through a symphony of textural delights.
– Ella Grace, an Australian designer, statement, jewellery range inspired by their only daughter Ella Grace.
The range features refined, individual pieces. Ella Grace is the encapsulation of timeless elegance, with designer statement necklaces, comprising of Czech and Swarovski crystals, beads and natural stones; intricately woven into glamorous boutique jewellery. Each piece comes beautifully gift wrapped in tissue paper to give the impression of elegance, beauty and glamour.
Anna personally travels throughout the year to source fabrics and materials from all over the world, bringing them together to create a truly individual range.
The inspiration for Ella Grace this season was the Downtown Abby-inspired 1920’s vintage glamour featuring soft tones with plums and berries.
The Journie Collection was inspired by the English countryside with an equestrian feel of the 1920’s also. There are lots of browns, creams, neutrals, greens, kahaki’s, burgundy and aubergine being hero tones this autumn/winter.
Anna Nova will launch their new range at Fashion Exposed in February next year.
“Fashion Exposed is that unique fair that has that leading edge, wherein all aspects of fashion are covered from clothing to handbags and accessories,” said Anna. “That in mind, this fair brings together thousands of existing customers and potential new customers that are eager to see us at the fair and what we will have on offer.”
Anna plans to push the brand beyond Australia and New Zealand into the US next year.
“Moving forward, our Australian labels are designed to fit the niche boutique-style stores,” she said. “Journie and Ella Grace are both recognised for their quality, originality and integrity.
