Fashion’s future talent, Exposed…

Sofia Polak only launched her self-titled label in March at Fashion Exposed Sydney, yet already her glamorous designs have featured in Cosmopolitan Bride magazine along with a recent invitation to showcase her collection at Stylexposed Fashion Show in September.
Polak completed a bachelor of fashion design at the Canberra Institute of Technology in 2006 and has forged a niche in the market with her one-of-a-kind evening wear and bridal.
Taking the label up a notch, Polak recently launched her first ready-to-wear collection titled `addicted to love’ which will be showcased at this month’s Fashion Exposed on August 28-30 at the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre.
“There are two stories within the range, there are some really feminine pieces which boast bold colours and frill detail and in contrast there are some pieces that feature leather and cut out detail,” says Sofia.
“I like to describe my range as glamorous with an edge. I like to cater for both femininity and strength in a woman as I believe women are a perfect mix of both so I like to reflect this when designing a collection.”

Polak’s label offers a fresh take on evening and cocktail’ wear but more importantly, versatility.
“The pieces can be worn from day to night and for special occasions but they can also be dressed down with a cool jacket for a fun night out,” she says.
Sofia is looking forward to exposing her new range to the national fashion industry at Fashion Exposed this month.
“I hope to make contact with potential buyers and am looking forward to meeting new contacts,” she says.
