Fashion Exposed & Premiere a hit

FEX_Wrap_By_Malene_Birger_1Fashion Exposed and new boutique event Premiere have triumphed over current market conditions to present standout Sydney shows.

Attracting over 7000 visitors, Fashion Exposed showcased over 1,500 labels to buyers from across Australasia, with all categories well covered including menswear, womenswear, childrenswear, streetwear and lingerie.

Women’s exhibitor Nadir described its first participation at Fashion Exposed as “fantastic”. We received very good feedback from the visitors and we took orders from many boutiques all over Australia, including New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australia,” said the brand’s Australian agent Giuliana Vitiello. “We’re looking forward to exhibiting in the Melbourne edition of the show.”

Lynne Champion, designer and buyer for women’s label Excessories was also “extremely happy” with the Sydney show.

“Given this was our first show and a tough fashion retail environment, we were overwhelmed by the quality of retailers who placed orders with us. Exceptionally well established retailers from each state, as well as New Zealand, who have been in business for many years, placedsubstantial orders. The feedback was that they were delighted with a new Australian made label with a point of difference and also with the fact that we offered stock and indent and gave exclusivity to their areas. Obtaining such quality new accounts made it a worthwhile and profitable experience for Excessories.”

Deborah Sterry of womenswear label Threadz added,

FEX_Wrap_By_Malene_Birger_2“It’s been a really successful show for us. There’s been an increase in new clients and we’ve seen many of our existing retailers return.”

Meanwhile the launch of exclusive showcase Premiere saw new collection releases from premium level exhibitors including By Malene Birger (pictured), Project D, Trelise Cooper, Patrizia Pepe and Alex Perry. Stephan Cornips of H&B Fashion Distributors said the Premiere launch had exceeded all expectations.

“Feedback from all exhibitors has been great. Distributors are running appointments as well as securing new solid clients. People are submitting orders and business is being done.”

“We’ve even had a few clients over from Christchurch which has been touching to see. They are trying to rebuild their businesses and it’s great that they have come under their circumstances.”

The next Fashion Exposed and Premiere will take place in Melbourne from 28 – 30 August 2011.
