Dinnigan wows Paris

Collette_Dinnigan_2_jpgCollette Dinnigan’s latest autumn winter range aired recently at Paris Fashion Week, blending an edgy fusion of bohemian creativity and exotic equestrianism.

Dinnigan reportedly said the range had been inspired by Frida Kahlo and Argentinian horsewomen.

“I wanted it to be about a strong woman rather than making it demure and poetic so I chose the idea of mixing it up with that masculine-feminine edge.”

“I wanted to mix the two because to me it’s about lace and very gentle embroideries, contrasted against the equestrian feel of the collection through a fitted riding jacket and jodhpurs.”

The autumn/winter 2011 collection, dubbed “Automne-Hiver (Portrait Of A Woman)”, was well received at the show, continuing Dinnigan’s reputation as a rarity for Paris Fashion Week; an Australian designer who has earned her stripes on the French couture scene.
