Seminars explore business of fashion

Seminars_SwenskIndustry professionals with an eye for the latest developments in business look set to benefit from a wide ranging array of topics at the forthcoming Fashion Business Seminars at Fashion Exposed, co-located with the Australian Shoe Fair.

Taking place on Tuesday 31 August, the seminars will cover trends to suit all target markets, visual marketing directions around the world, innovative retail strategies, and salient topics such as sustainability and the environment.

Seminar 1 from 9am – 10am will see Barrie Barton of Right Angle Studio and Kate Hannaford of Moth Design discuss strategies on Selling to the Consumer Who Hates to Shop. Seminar 2 from 10.30am – 11.30am discusses the topic of Men: The New Frontier of Fashion Retail, featuring James Roberts of Captains of the Industry, Greta Larkins & Patrick Roberts of Comeback Kid and Emilio Fuscaldo of Nest Architects. Seminar 3 from 12 noon – 1pm sees Karen Rieschieck of Alice Euphemia and Jane Matthews of Swensk (brand image pictured) dissect the topic of Green isn’t only the Colour of Money: Being a More Sustainable Retailer.

Meanwhile, seminar 4, from 1.30pm – 2.30pm sees fashion and business expert Kate Vandermeer of iSpyStyle share her Trade Secrets on marketing, branding and retail presence, visual merchandising, social media and building customer loyalty. Finally Seminar 5, from 3pm – 3.45pm will comprise insights on Global Retail Trends from Westfield Retailer Relations general manager Jack Hanrahan, who will present a run down of this year’s Westfield World Retail Study tour, covering retail from Japan, USA and Europe.

Held within Fashion Exposed at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, tickets to each seminar are $30 + GST.
