The fledgling company, which allows customers to create their own footwear designs, won awards for Best New Online Retailer, Best Online Retail Marketing Initiative and Most Innovative Online Retailer.
Founded less than a year ago, Shoes of Prey hit the big time when it collaborated with popular US video blogger Juicystar07, who has over 400,000 Youtube subscribers and a Hollywood agent. The blogger agreed to conduct a sponsored video review of the shoes which was viewed by almost 600,000 users and led to the tripling of Shoes of Prey sales.
Shoes of Prey is now looking to experiment with offline retail and recently opened a Japanese version of its site, which has been successful to date.
The brand’s founders said much of their success lay in addressing and sticking to a niche market including creative people that wanted to make their own designs or customers with special footwear needs.
