Two new overseas footwear labels are stepping into new territory through their debut at the Australian Shoe Fair. Adventure shoe brands CÀRN and Terrasoles have entered the market courtesy of distributor Tradecorp.
“We’re hoping to present these new brands to Australian retailers with a view to refining the range and securing local distribution channels,” said Lisa Norton, Tradecorp marketing manager. “We’re offering potential stockists unique, exciting products, fantastic margins and great marketing and merchandising support.”
Designed in the UK, the CÀRN range comprised high-performance outdoor adventure shoes in five styles across both men’s and women’s sizes, priced $199.95 to $299.95, Norton confirmed.
“CÀRN utilises the latest in moisture management technology, including eVent waterproof fabric and TREK-DRY and AEGIS systems. The foot beds and sole units are created from premium materials, with the latest cushioning, stability and shock protection technology, incorporating the uTRX sole. CÀRN will appeal to the serious adventurer and to everyday travellers because it’s comfortable and more relaxed than your average hiking shoe.”
Meanwhile US brand Terrasoles’ high-performance, eco-friendly “comfort shoes” were designed as an after-sport and lifestyle brand, priced $119.95 to $149.95.
“Terrasoles are the future of feel-good footwear; they’re great on your feet, and even better on the environment. Using recycled and organic materials, the shoes are eco-friendly as well as fantastic looking. And they’re also machine-washable, which is perfect for travellers and those wanting to get serious mileage out of their shoes. You’ll find a pair of Terrasoles for almost every occasion, whether it’s sitting around a campfire, walking through the bush or hurrying through the city streets.”
Tradecorp had adopted a flexible distribution strategy for the labels, Norton said. “Whilst both brands are aimed at the outdoor market, and would naturally suit outdoor retailers, they also have their place with other stockists. CÀRN, for example, is currently stocked at a selection of The Athlete’s Foot stores, where their professional fitting service lends itself extremely well to the nature of the product. Being a more casual ‘lifestyle’ brand, Terrasoles has an extremely wide market appeal which would suit a variety of retailers, from surf and ski shops and independent retailers to larger department stores.”
